Bye Bye Bush (Update pg. 4)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I haven't read everyone's post yet. I would assume no one is bitter against Bush or anything. This is good news. I was just checking my emails on yahoo and saw the report on yahoo.sports. AP Source: Dolphins trade for ...

I was just checking my emails on yahoo and saw the report on yahoo.sports.
AP Source: Dolphins trade for Bush - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
I know someone psoted thisone.
I am only reading this link. I am not reading the other 10, whatever number links out there.
I don't care.
I don't care to read them all and I am happy he is leaving.
The guy is not happy here anymore. He has had some injuries. He has his career and wants to make the most money he can before he retires.
It is just business is business.
Bush won and earned a SB ring here. He did earn it. He was a major factor of the team winning that SB.
Last year, he was injured a lot, is older, and he doesn't want to be here. Fine. If he wants to go, good. If he feels his future , financially and otherwise , is with another NFL team, fine.
From a Saints fan point of view and I am hardly an expert, the team needs to find a younger FB, one who wants to be here, can be molded into the current coach and teams' plan. In other words, the team needs someone new as well. Someone less costly. I think it is good Bush is leaving.
Different take from me about his leaving.

I was hoping we could restructure his contract and bring him back. When he was healthy, our offense was much more dangerous than when he was on the sidelines. I wish him the best and I'm glad he's not playing for a team in our division. Guess it's time I change my avatar...

Now, I went to read others' posts.
Yeah, most of us are fine with it for all of the reasons you all listed.

It could be as simple as moving now from the little fish in the big pond (Saints) to the big fish in a little pond (Dolphins)!

He knew his touches were going to be limited with the Saints...whereas his touches with Miami could provide him a greater opportunity in his next contract!

Loomis once said...turnover is approximately 25% each year. This year
Bush was in that number!

I'll miss you, Reggie! Have fun soaking up the Miami sun. And then the cold winter temps in the northeast!

I know there are a lot of Reggie haters on this board but I'm always going to think of him as an important piece to turning this franchise around. I know in the 06 draft we got players who contributed more on the field and signing Drew a month before was the best move this franchise made. But drafting Reg gave this franchise and fan base a huge morale boost when it needed it the most. Even after signing Brees, tickets sales were still down and talks of relocation were constant. But when Reggie was announced as the second pick; sales went up, the team played well and we've been rolling ever since. When looking back at this wonderful stretch we've had over the last 5 years, it starts with seeing videos on youtube of people celebrating our pick of Reggie. For everyone it's different, but for me I associate the start of all the positivity surrounding this team with the day we drafted Reg so I'm disappointed to see him go and wish him the best.

I believe there's a big misconception in differentiating tough love/constructive criticism to hate towards Reggie. I don't believe any one here "hates" Reggie Bush.

I agree and pretty much feel the same with the rest of this.
