Not even that good against the run. Actually watch him play. He constantly takes bad angles to the ball carrier, QB, whoever. He arm tackles a lot and gets lucky to get just enough to trip the guy up. He rarely hits a guy straight on with power. A lot of people just listen to what others say and repeat it thinking he's all that. Go back to 09 and actually watch games. Watch how many times he fills the hole, is the only player there and completely whiffs on the tackle. This guy needs to be replaced. In coverage, even when he's right there, he misses the ball and the receiver makes the catch, over and over again. Stop listening to what others are spouting and actuall watch this guy play. He leaves a LOT to be desired. How many safties intercept the ball (when he actually makes a catch) and get run down from behind by the QB? Really.

If there is a problem I would say it's a systemic problem that is not tied to Roman Harper, but rather to Gregg Williams. Williams told everyone how completely indispensible Roman Harper was and how Patrick Robinson was going to be so improved. I saw no evidence of this whatsoever in the Packers game and this is two games in a row now where Harper and Robinson have been abused and our defense has been torched for more than 40 points!

Sure sounds like it. He could also be called the new Jason Davids, or Tebucky Jones, or Devery Henderson, Reggie Bush or whoever. Seems like there always need to be atleast one guy that the fans can use as a scapegoat and throw some hate at.

If the Saints played Sharper as the SS - which would be a mistake in my mind - it would probably just reverse the situation: he'd be better in coverage, but worse against the rush and creating pressure.

If we would need to find him a position to play, it'd probably be as the FS while moving Jenkins to SS, which again would not be ideal.

There simply isn't a starting spot for him in the Saints' roster, barring any injuries. I wouldn't mind seeing him as a backup and a mentor to the younger players, but it would have to be with a discount because he doesn't contribute to the special teams.
