Interesting question

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; With Ivory missing so much time we actually wouldn't see any respectable return for him. And I agree with the sentiment that we are lucky to have the depth. We all know what injuries can do with our backfield....

I'm not sure if I would trade defensive depth for Chris Ivory. Then again, Ivory is a beast when healthy. But he was injured so much last year, I fear he cannot stay on the field. I'm not sure. I just hope the Saints can average over 35 points per game this season.

Why don't we wait and see how he comes back. He's going to be splitting time with some other guys who are pretty good.

OH
MY
GOD.

Go ahead. Someone step up and doubt that man's skills. I dare you.

The balance and presence of this beast of a running back is one in one thousand. Any wonder why he is injured? He PUNISHES tacklers!

And it's rare to see someone get through holes that are only 6-inches wide.

You doubters are crazy.

Thanks for sharing, STRATO. That's some of the most inspirational running video from just a short career that any running back has amassed.

He JOLTS linebackers for God's sake!!!

I don't think anyone doubts his skills. If he could stay healthy for 16 games AND get 15-20 rushes per game he'd be putting up Adrian Peterson numbers or better.

The ONLY thing anyone questions is his ability to stay healthy. So far he can't make it through a single game.

No,...........
Very long season & without a 3rd & short RB we have no chance of super bowl title. If PT & Ingram get hurt then haveing CI to step in could be our ticket to Super bowl win II. CI in my opinion actually puts fear in a defence as few like to tackle anymore in NFL. Violent , very violent RB he is. Makes 3rd & short life real easy for Brees. This back flat A... runs people over.

No market. Cheap salary. Best short yardage back on the team. Sproles may want huge money next year due to his true value. Keep him. That being said, I hope the front office is working the phones just in case a starting quality LB becomes available. The Herring experiment was a bust. Wilson was struggling with the mental part of the game and now he's injured. Vilma has been nicked up and the 2nd best LB on the squad Dunbar is his backup. Casillas has shown promice but also looks overmatched at times. And Shanle is just slightly better than playing with 10 on defense. LOL.
