Interesting question

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think Imgram is a powerful back but I haven't seeing him do run the ball like Ivory did last year. I know it's still early but I'm going to go with a NO right now....

Ivory was great last year when he played. I think that if Ingram was given the same opportunity he could be better. Ingram has displayed more ability over a longer period of time..

I'm all for getting great talent in a trade for him but that wouldn't happen. No team is willing to trade off a great player for another great player that can't stay on the field.

He has a punishing running style, which causes pain to the defenders, but unfortunately to himself as well.

He reminds me of Marion Barber and consequently I'm afraid that if Ivory can't change/modify his running style to be less punishing on his body he'll eventually suffer the same end result as Barber... being too broken to be an effective long term RB in the NFL.

He wouldn't have to run that way if we would open up a friggin hole every now and then.

What we would get in trade, would not impact the defense in the same manner he impacts the offense. Hate to say it, PT is better trade bait and I would totally hate to see any of these guys go anywhere. Our 4-headed monster may, through natural selection, get wittled down to 3 next season.

I agree with you.

Also the Saints still have Bell on the PS, who also ran well during the pre-season. So the Saints might still have a 4-headed monsters even if PT was traded.

Nevertheless, because of the past experiences, I wouldn't feel comfortable trading away any of the Saints' RBs.

I wouldn't think twice if we could get a decent player on D. He is not our best rb, you have to get out the tub to be in that conversation. So far this year, he is our fourth best rb.
