As Saints fans we need to accept that everything we do is going to be criticized by someone. Every year, teams know who their hiring but bring in a minority candidate to fulfill the requirements of the Rooney Rule and never get criticized. John Fox to Denver was mentioned earlier, what about Jason Garrett with the Cowboys? These were teams who knew the guy they were hiring but interviewed minorities and no one said a word. It's unfair but it's something us fans are going to have to get used to.

I would like to add that I like the intentions of the Rooney Rule but they need to tweak it. I don't know how exactly, but the rule does need to be modified.

What minority coach who would be qualified to coach the Saints who are not already coaching in the NFL?

In my "opinion"...... It's not a farce, if you look at it in these terms and would honestly not violate any rules.

What other candidate would have a resume' that could compete with Parcells life body of work?

Interview 1 or 20, any your very hard pressed to find a candidate with a resume' better than Parcells or better qualified to be a head coach in the NFL that does not already have a head coaching job.

So if anyone wants to find a ringer to hang the Saints on he better be better qualified than the Tuna or it will not hold up.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. ~ Henry David Thoreau

The hits just keep on comming! I bet the owners come up with a new rule next year for this interim coaching situation. Especially if Parcells gets the job & is successful. There are no sanctions or punishments enough to make these people happy. Do not be surprised if someone doesn't try to block this from happening!

Just go on down there and surrender your dignity and come on back.

Any takers?

BTW, you cannot type the word negro on NFL.com. I had no idea that was disrespectful. Hmmm...

The Rooney rule was doomed to be a failure the minute it was first thought of. Teams are going to hire who they think is capable, regardless of race. Just because there weren't many minority coaches, as people like to call them, didn't mean that teams were racist.

I've always wondered how it is that the majority of the NFL is comprised of black athletes and yet people assume that owners and general managers are racist because they don't hire a black coach. Wouldn't it stand to reason that if you're a racist you wouldn't have black athletes? Teams want to win, and they'll hire anyone who they think will help them.

Stop making a mockery of Minorities themselves, and perhaps you'll find that they'll earn their chance just like everyone else.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

As long as you're good, I don't give a crap who you are. And if you're not good, I don't think any less of you as a human being, no matter who you are. I just wouldn't want you on my team.

But if you're an A-hole, I also don't care who you are. You can just go the hell away. I'm so tired of the media trying to start a racial war.
