Herm Edwards is an idiot. He does a poor job on ESPN. I think he had a poor career as a player and a coach too?

As a coach he didn't even have a .500 win average, it's something like a .422; close but no cigar.

We're hiring a 1-year stand-in. I'm pretty sure the Rooney rule doesn't clarify that if your head coach is supended for a year you must interview a minority candidate. Personally I think applying the Rooney rule here is making a mockery of the intention of the rule. Here's an idea I'd be OK with... Have all 32 teams set up at least one interview with a minority candidate regardless of their coaching situation. After all, one of its main benefits is to get minority coaches accustomed to the interview process and it also gives 32 teams better insight and information on minority coaches throughout the league. It may be a bit patronizing, but no more than the original rule itself is. |

um its a interim job. If this is the case then if you fired a coach half way through the season then you would have to interview before premoting before the next game. Dungey is such a ignorant SOB. The key would here is INTERIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
