Herm Edwards: Saints are making a mockery of the Rooney Rule

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why not bring in a young upcoming coach that you'd like to get to know in case of any future vacancies on the staff? Tell him bring his family and make a mini-vacation out of it? Interview him over lunch ...

Why not bring in a young upcoming coach that you'd like to get to know in case of any future vacancies on the staff? Tell him bring his family and make a mini-vacation out of it? Interview him over lunch at Dragos, tell you appreciate his time then hire Parcells. What's so freaking hard about that?

You wanna know what if the Saints want to hire a freaking alien to do the job I'm OK with that and I'm sorry Bill Parcells is more qualified than any black man alive. Now why would I need to waste my time interviewing a black candidate. Herm shut your mouth and get back to not doing a very good job at what you do.

Black people aren't the only minority in this country. Just saying.

Herm is just jealous that he doesnt have a shot at it. Hes got to be thinking man how would it make me look to be the interim guy for a team that can operate on auto pilot and be a Super Bowl contender. That way I get to walk around on the sideline with a stupid grin on my face, all the while thinking I cant believe Im getting paid what I am for doing what I do, which is absolutely nothing. I agree Be quiet Herm, quit desperately seeking attention and crawl back in your corner where you belong, youve done nothing but destroy every team youve ever coached. Wait, Herm doesnt even know what a super bowl contending team looks like.

He's paid to give his opinion people. An ESPN funded opinion. This story surfaces every time a coach is already picked by ownership before quality candidates are interview. Dallas had the same article posted about them when Wade was fired and Garrett took over. They interviewed someone in house, with no problem. I don't see why this is newsworthy..

It may be a bit patronizing, but no more than the original rule itself
Nail on head, right there.

Hey at the end of it all, award the STAR "minority" interviewee with a NFL-sponsored secondment to be an under-Head Coach.

I wondered how long it would take someone to realise that.

As an owner, you have the right to do what you want with your team, including hiring who you want...

And if that means you don't want to hire a minority - you have that right, even if it means denying yourself some very talented men who could help you get your team to a good place...

Eventually, you'll find yourself all alone...
