Osi Umenyiora: If you trade for me, you won’t have to redo my contract

Don't get me wrong, I am a Saints fan, I love me some Pierre Thomas and he is THE MAN...but I am not wholly sure that anybody else in the league would want PT in a meaningful trade. He's just not that well known, and not really considered a name brand running back, out there in the world.... I mean we all love him here, and know how good he is in our system, but I think his value is going to be sorely underestimated by other teams if there was ever to be some kind of theoretical trade involving him. I always say that, whenever people talk about hypothetically trading Pierre, or Ivory. Who exactly would want him, or even know who he was, when he averages like 30 yards a game, and barely made 500 yards last year, he wasn't even drafted out of college fer cryin' out loud. It's not like he's a household name outside of NO.

And I don't think anybody would want Will Smith in a trade right now, either, for a different reason... I think he has unknown quantity of games that he is very likely to be suspended for, and nobody knows how bad that will be, and anybody who potentially takes him on their roster would have to deal with that hole in their roster for some chunk of time. Who really wants that kind of a headache? So if I were from another team I wouldn't touch him. If I was another team, I wouldn't really trade for any of these defensive guys, even Shanle. You just don't know.

I still think keeping ivory is overkill in the RB department. I really hope they go after Osi! I know he could come in and make an instant impact.
