There's plenty enough blame to go around but in my opinion, Goodell screwed up this season royally for us and I think that was his intention. How can a man be allowed to so demoralize an organization and trample on a fanbase over hearsay, conjecture, and circumstantial evidence like he has this year and still keep his job is beyond me. No, the refs aren't to blame but I'm darn sure going to lay the majority of it on Goodells shoulders. That SOB screwed us everywhich way you can. Others were right when they said he knew what he was doing when he sent Sean home for a year. ![]()

You can't look at this season and not acknowledge the role that Roger Goodell has played in it. It's impossible for a rational person to not see it.

I will blame the refs for one item.
Rhythm... You cant get a rhythm in a game with at least 6 stops for call reviews that were over turned. Rhythm is a big part of professional football. The no huddle is rhythm dependent, and manning him self would have trouble with all the game breaks. |

Can anyone point to a blown call that went in our favor?

Game versus Washington Graham caught a pass and it was batted out of his hands immediately. Refs awarded us forward progress was stopped rather than a fumble. It was a fumble so fast there is no way it should have been called that. Only one I can think of.

Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
It doesn't matter who we blame the fact is we can't win a game whether we are ahead or behind. This is not what we are accustomed to and it feels bad. Undoubtley Gooddell knew what he was doing when he suspended Payton for the year. It appears he will keep us out of the superbowl.

Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
It's a combination of a lot of things. No one person, or lack thereof, not one side of the ball or another. The tumultuous off season hurt, Brees' holdout hurt, the current lack of leadership hurts, our O-line and D-line play is killing us, the scab refs hurt. All of it...no one thing.

Re: Quit blaming our losses on the refs and Goodell
Did the replacement officials get all the calls right?
Maybe. Maybe not. “I don’t get into that business,” veteran defensive end Will Smith said. “I mean, the refs are human; they’re not going to call it as called all the time. “You just have to play the game. You can’t leave it in their hands.” Full article. Replay reversals make mark on game between Saints, Chiefs | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, LA |
