Bush and Ingram are two different type Rb's. PT and Ivory had no issues with our line... Miami's o-line is mediocre at best and not better than ours.

Bush was injury prone. Where is he this week? Game time decision.

It does not look like rivers is doing his thing this year based on stats.. Chargers 23rd in pasing.... 17th in rushing

He was an after thought.........Payton promised his son he would get him and I think caved to pressure from his son after we chose Jordan. Seriously, he wasn't the right choice. He is more old school Payton era.....when he liked a power back and a finesse back.
When he was chosen Sproles wasn't in the mix yet and Ivory had injury issues. Now we have Cadet as well.
This cat needs 25 or more touches a game.
I love him and think that he is being misused and needs to be traded to a team where his value is relative. Ingram reminds me so much of Emmitt Smith.
Another bad first round choice for the Saints.

I agree except... Dont trade him so he can get 25 touches against us in a game.

Let him sit in Ivorys place for a while.

Re: Is the Saints’ offense ruining Mark Ingram?:

Gotta say that this question/comment has been bothering me since I read it today...

Finished tasks at work, went bowling, came in and saw the thread, again...

Well, this is my honest response...

Really Good and Great Players adapt and succeed regardless of the circumstances...

He needs to earn, warrant his selection as a first round pick and the extra pick it took to move up and get him...

While the previous post that he draws a crowd allowing play action pass is true, if he doesn't start tearing off 20 yard runs, opposing defenses will stop respecting his game...

Re: Is the Saints’ offense ruining Mark Ingram?:

I don't think it is ruining his career per say, but I think we are not using him in the right way. I have a feeling if he was on another team we would see a different player. Kind of like how Reggie is doing in Miami. I think it has something to do with rytem and the fact he does not get the snaps to get into a groove. He really isn't needed here. I have been reluctant to say that he was overrated or a "bust", but I think it might not have been smart to draft a back that wasn't really needed on this team

Hate to say this but it would take someone going down to understand how good he can be. He can run screens, quite well in fact. He can also hit the corners hard and punish people. And if he gets through he will make people miss. That's probably his greatest strength, the ability to cut. I imagine he must be getting frustrated knowing what he can do and doing what they tell him to do.

Original Question:

No, but if we keep utilizing Mark Ingram as he HAS been utilized, Mark Ingram will RUIN the New Orleans Saints.

He won't ruin it. That's on the coach. What RB is going to have any success running the same exact couple of plays over and over. He ran lots of screens in college to perfection! What he didn't do well at is exactly what he's doing right now. Sound familar?

He had mad stats in college but running straight into a stout D-line like LSU he struggled. If the Saints continue to do that he won't be getting the 2 yard avg anymore. This is entirely on the coaches. I think they will address this the next few games.

New Orleans ran 42 offensive plays on second, third or fourth down Sunday in Green Bay — only four were runs, and just one by Ingram. That’s way too predictable, and it helps explain why Ingram seems totally misused so far this season.

I dont 100% disagree, plus, in my opinion MI is the type of back that probably gets better with more carries. Our line hasn't opened a ton of holes, and the ones they do for PT is in part his skill, but also his dangerousness out of the backfield on screens.
