Its a good, in fact brilliant coach, ceo, etc move. Old tactic to fire a leader that is not pulling his weight to send a messege to the rest of the coachs and players that no one is safe, and set the tone. Most good leaders fire everyone as fast as possible. Shows me SP is in the right frame of mind and still hungry. I looked over a lot of his statements and it looks like hes been busy planing new plays, offense, and strategy while out. I figured something big was comming, and I dont think he is done yet.
I wouldnt be suprised to see a new kind of offense, and a lot of off season work.

Smith might get lucky sometimes, but hes no match for guys like SP or BB. He simply cant play call or team manage as well. In the end the falcons will remain where they are until you get a better coach. 2nd or 3rd best in the NFCS. Smith is not built to get you farther, you picked the wrong coach is your problem, doesnt matter how much talent you hire. Smith will always mess it up. Re: Spags Released
Really. We could've stayed last in the league (ypg if you want to be precise) and still have improved. Hopefully someone (like the Clowns) will pick Spags up in some capacity. I'm pretty sure there won't be many folk crying in their beer over this down on Bourbon Street.

Re: Spags Released
I would be AOK with Romeo as our DC.

Re: Spags Released
Another side thought, given the situation with 'the mystery player', do you think SP figured that he was losing the team as well?
It doesn't matter either way, SP was disgusted with what happened. I'm not gonna argue with the genius that is Payton. |

Re: Spags Released
Saints should have fired him weeks ago. I wanted Ray Horton! Sigh.

Did he get a chance to pack before getting fired?

We know how much Coach loves Parcells. So don't be surprised if we get Romeo. |
