Ingram - rumors along with everything else

3-4, 4-3, 2-3, 1-5, doesn't matter. There's going to be plenty of everything.

Back in 2010, I analyzed the season opener against the Vkings. At the time we were supposedly a 4-3 base defense, but nearly half the snaps in the base defense were in a 3-4, something like 20 snaps there were just 2 linemen on the field, and a couple times on long passing downs there was just one lineman on the field with 3 linebackers and every DB on the roster.

Ryan comes from the same school of defense as GW so I think we'll see a lot of similar stuff. The only issue is we have a whole lot of young players who might have a hard time picking up on all the changes at first.

If we're going to trade Ingram to the Giants (hope we don't), we'll need to get a high to mid round draft pick or a promising pass rusher...

We'll also need to sign a veteran back...

And, it's after Week 1 so vets' contracts won't be guaranteed...

But these are some options...

Willis McGahee
Beanie Wells
Cedric Benson
Kevin Smith
Michael Turner
Ryan Grant

or if Victor Butler comes back and able to contribute, he may take that roster spot...

Look, I'm sure Ingram is a wonderful person. But frankly, he's terrible at running back. He runs into his blockers, loses 5 yards, then gets off the ground all pissed off, hitting the football, hitting his helmet -- but it's HIS OWN FAULT that he tripped on his own feet. Don't know what he gets all worked up for!

I don't mind us keeping Ingram but I just want to see Khiry run vs some starters just to see if it creates a spark via Ivory.

Speaking of Chris Ivory, he looked good yesterday running for 52 yards on 12 carries.

It's about time he fumbled. It's been a couple years.

I'll take a fumble-a-year 5.0 back over a never-fumble 1.5 back all day on Sunday, Monday nights and then again on Thursday night.
