^So other teams who want to sign cut players will go ahead and get those guys. Gives us a better chance of sneaking a player through waivers that would maybe be claimed otherwise so we can get him on the PS.

Let's say the Lions need a corner and they're hoping we cut Sweeting because they like him. If we wait until the last possible second to waive him, they go ahead and sign another CB because they are desperate, and our chances of getting Sweeting through waivers to make the PS are that much better.

I would've been pretty shocked if Vilma had not made the roster, given the praise the Lofton/Vilma combo got during OTA's.

If Vilma wasn't injured, then I would agree. There is a lot of difference in OTAs and preseason action.

Carrs salary would have been guaranteed if he made the 53. He'll likely be cut/signed a few times this year, after week 1 when his salary is week to week.

Probably do the same with Jim Leonhard too.

White has potential, but he did look awful in that Miami game. He's a possible safety candidate too, which is where several draft sites had him projected.

Rolle and Sweeting are fighting for that last CB spot.
