A kicker missing a FG on the opening drive has no effect on morale? Part of Hartleys issue is that he kicks better with pressure, the situational stats prove that. Problem is that when he misses one on an opening drive and we find our self down by 9 in the bottom of the 4th we have to score on two possessions rather than a TD on one. IF we were down by 6 in the bottom of the 4th it would have been different play calling and we would have gone for it on 4th. |

He makes it, he plays again next week. Lucky for him, he made it. And he made the 43 yarder, both of them right down the middle. We'll see Hartley again next week, thanks to that 55 yarder.

Like Ingram, I wish the kid just rack up the points and scapegoating him doesn't do jack if the team still employs him. If SP's gesture gives him confidence, AWESOME! Just MAKE THE KICKS! We had problems yesterday and if Hartley made the early FG, the game approach and momentum would have been different. BUT from what I saw, we had chances to win that game besides Hartley's miss. The reasons we failed to capitalize on those chances concerns me more than a missed FG at this point. |

Re: Garrett Hartley
Wait. We were up in the JETS game by what, 14-3.
Is that right? I think it was 14-3. We lose the game 26-20 and we want to blame the idiot kicker? Well, idiot is right, but that adjective is in front of the wrong noun... |
