this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I have been a Hartley supporter from day one, but after today's effort, my patience has worn pretty thin....

Re: Fartley? Really?
Kickers don't make every kick. He hasn't cost us a game this year... In fact he's won us one. Be calm folks; Hartley isn't going anywhere.

Re: Fartley? Really?
The painful truth is that we are hurting slightly more than usual, in that we just had to call up Ryan Griffin to the roster from the practice squad; if we had that roster spot open right now, we could probably carry 2 kickers on the squad as we have done at certain times in the past, bring someone in to kick Hartley through his slump and then put the emo kid back out there when his head is back together again.
It's definitely not as simple as just cutting Hartley tomorrow morning. It's way more complicated than that....who do you have on tap that's better, let's hear some names. Did Hartley cost us this game? Let's clear that one up before we go nuclear. |

Re: Fartley? Really?
I think Sean sent him a message later in the game when we stalled out at the Bills 30 yard line and we punted. The 30 yard line, and we punted.

Re: Fartley? Really?
"He hasn't cost us a game yet this year." And you want to wait around for that to happen before you do something about it?
Your world-class kicker is right under your noses and you don't even see him. Some of you have attached yourselves to number 5 the way you did number 28. DUMP THE MAN. NOW. BEFORE he costs us ANOTHER game. Alaska |

Re: Fartley? Really?
I started him on my fantasy teams. Simple jinx. The jinx is gone and will not be a problem for the rest of the year.

Re: Fartley? Really?
Thomas Morstead put TWO through the uprights today from 75 yards away. What makes you think he could not make consistent 50-yarders when someone places the ball for him?

Re: Garrett Hartley
Rugby, think they were missing the humor on that one...
Justin Drescher Anyways, at least Hartley kept it interesting with the two misses... Guessing Coach Payton and Hartley will be in for a little chat... May have to up the anxiety meds, or the rum shots - For Hartley AND for Saints fans... Do we still have the number of the Mexican Kicker, Jose Carlos Maltos?!? May have to jerk his chain a little... |
