this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; "He hasn't cost us a game yet this year." And you want to wait around for that to happen before you do something about it? Your world-class kicker is right under your noses and you don't even see him. Some ...

Your world-class kicker is right under your noses and you don't even see him. Some of you have attached yourselves to number 5 the way you did number 28. DUMP THE MAN. NOW. BEFORE he costs us ANOTHER game. Alaska |

Re: Fartley? Really?
I started him on my fantasy teams. Simple jinx. The jinx is gone and will not be a problem for the rest of the year.

Re: Fartley? Really?
Thomas Morstead put TWO through the uprights today from 75 yards away. What makes you think he could not make consistent 50-yarders when someone places the ball for him?

Hartley on the other hand is guaranteed for about 3-6 misses every year |

As usual I am not worried. This is nothing out of the ordinary for an NFL kicker.

Know where Hartleys 78% FG kicking accuracy lands him? 25th in the league. 1-19 - 100% 20-29 - 100% 30-39 - 80% (22nd in the league) 40-49 - 62% (27th in the league) Are these numbers you want to take into OT or playoffs? Now here, I will blow your mind - He is a home/dome-turf kicker for Christ sakes, on a team that shines on MNF! Grass -87.5% Turf - 70% Home - 62.5 Road - 90% Point Situation: Ahead - 72.7% <- WTF? Tied - 75% Behind - 100% Monday - 50% Sunday 82% For our sake someone better pray we get no home playoff games that fall on his leg. All of those situation stats tell me he can not focus for spit. In the spirit of all the blah blah about holding Ingram back... Harelty needs to go kick for an outdoor team with a losing record to really shine. Jacksonville or NYG would be a perfect fit for him. |

LOVE the post above. I thought Oak was going to tear me apart for being down on Hartley. He agreed! Can I have an 'Agree' next to Like/Share
![]() Love these stats my man. Heart in mouth every time. Great point on being in a Dome. Also loving the WTF on the Stat sheet! Unbelievable to think he is at his best in the worst conditions, on the road when we are trailing! ![]() |

I get told he is loved because he kicked a FG in 2009. |

I know kickers don't get a lot of love. In many ways I think that is ridiculous because they can be unsung heroes, especially a punter! I also do not expect a kicker to make every single one of his kicks. That may be due to distance, conditions, situations or whatever BUT I do expect him to give me the confidence that it is something that has put him off his stride as opposed to his own undoing that caused a miss. Like I said, 2 kickers for me that always stand out (and now someone will undoubtedly show me their stats are worse than Hartleys) are Matt Prater and Robbie Gould. Those guys just hit their kicks. From whatever distance. More importantly I expect them to hit and am surprised when/if they don't. Not the other way round as with Hartley. I thought Kasay was a great kicker when we brought him in for that 2011 season. I was much more confident! |
