Who cares, it's a loss to an AFC opponent...

That may be, but this is one that shouldn't have happened. Some of the worst officiating I've seen, coupled with the general ineptitude of the offense for most of the game, especially when it mattered most... This hurts.. Maybe I shouldn't care, but I do.. Not saying the sky is falling, but damnit, this one was ours

A loss before the bye this was the one to lose. This team has outplayed everyone's expectations so far. Just be happy that we are 5-1 with the loss to a non-division/conference opponent

I agree with you on the fact that it's just before the bye/AFC opponent and I'll even throw you in the fact that it's the pats at home, it just sucks that we pulled defeat from the jaws of victory and our play calling went into 'Ask Madden' mode in the final 2 minutes when we shoulda been throwing underneath on 1st down. Worst thing about this is that instead of setting the pace and letting Seattle keep up with us we have to go into their house and try and pull one out to keep home field.

This isn't college football. There are no regular season conference championships. Every win or loss counts. I realize there are tie breakers that come into play, but if we finish one game behind for home field advantage this could be the one that cost us. Why? Because we had the ball with the lead, twice, in the last couple minutes. That is supposed to be a win. Losing is one thing, but giving it away is another.

And yes, this frustration is compounded by the fact that the refs heavily influenced the outcome... I don't know how some fans can say "just be happy" fill in the blank, after any loss.

I'm happy that life goes on, but I'm not happy about giving games away.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Seriously? the only team that can compete with us for HFA is Seattle and guess what they have a loss to the AFC as well. Plus we play them so that's all moot anyway

You're assuming it only comes down to that. I would love to think this is our last loss, but suppose it isn't? We could win in Seattle and still finish behind them. Would you not look back at this game and say "if only we had finished that game"?

It's not rocket science what I'm explaining to you.

We do! It still count on the W/L record. The Saints are jockeying for postseason position. It's best to get it out the way early so we won't find them in the same position that the Cowboys found themselves in for the last two seasons....
