Re: Loss to pats on Payton and Brees

In a recent thread, someone mention that the Saints don't need to have a solid running game to be a dominant offense as long as we have Brees, Graham, etc. Well, New England defense (without Woolfork up front) showed us otherwise.

Brees had an okay game, Graham was shut out and then limped out and the running game was hit and miss. Not to mention some questionable play calling at crunch time. It's time for Coach Payton and Co. to flip the script, if you will. They have the Bye Week to straighten this out, if we ever gonna see another Super Bowl. Our defense can only do so much (and at times, it's Letdown City) and our offense has to do better at putting games away at crunch time....

Re: Loss to pats on Payton and Brees

It was almost the exact same scenario in both week 1 and week 2

D bails us out multiple times, offense puts up 400 yards of offense but cant a first down when it really matters

Only difference was we won those games

This game should be an eye opener, every person even announcers were calling this a win with 2:30 left to play and Payton got stupid with the offense and let brady back on the field

Xan is right, but on the last play.

Greer on a WR by himself in the back corner of the endzone.... That's gift wrapping a TD for Brady.

No excuse for single coverage.

Because we had the ball with the lead, twice, in the last couple minutes. That is supposed to be a win. Losing is one thing, but giving it away is another.

And yes, this frustration is compounded by the fact that the refs heavily influenced the outcome... I don't know how some fans can say "just be happy" fill in the blank, after any loss.

I'm happy that life goes on, but I'm not happy about giving games away.
Seriously? the only team that can compete with us for HFA is Seattle and guess what they have a loss to the AFC as well. Plus we play them so that's all moot anyway

I wish I could slap the **** out of somebody right now, that's the only thing that would make me feel better.

Cant double every receiver though, greer should have been able to hold his own, brady would find holes down the middle with mismatches if we doubled outside

The play calling, clock management and lackluster offense at the end blew it, i wont blame the D, even if keenan lewis made an absolute pathetic decision and threw the patriots receiver out of bounds

You're assuming it only comes down to that. I would love to think this is our last loss, but suppose it isn't? We could win in Seattle and still finish behind them. Would you not look back at this game and say "if only we had finished that game"?

It's not rocket science what I'm explaining to you.
