5-1 going into the bye with the loss to the AFC is pretty damn good, not like we were going to finished out undefeated |

The Saints have never won more than 13 games, and today didn't exactly convince me that they'll break that record. I expect the seahawks to win 12 to 13 games. I believe both teams are capable of winning any game they play, but they've both shown vulnerability. So, what if they go 13-3 and we go 12-4? I think we'll win at least 13 games, but when you botch games like today it can cost you in the end. Remember when we went 13-3 in '11 but finished tied with the 49ers, and they got home field because of conference records? But we lost to the BROWNS early in that season, an AFC team. Did you ever wish we would have won that game or any other game and gotten home field? Again, not rocket science. Every game matters, period. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

When you don't play to win you can lose, simple as that.

Re: Loss to pats on Payton and Brees
Dont get me wrong I'm more than grateful to be 5-1 but I blame this on Payton. Play calling on last 3 drives was terrible. He played not to lose instead of playing to win. We'll learn and move on. At least it was to an AFC opponent. Still love my Saints, hard fought game.

Re: Loss to pats on Payton and Brees
burningmetal, I see your point and agree. Yes, every game is a game to win. Every game is important.
Thing is, winning them all is hard even for NEPats and DenBroncos. When it is all said and done, season over, post season starts, who knows how which team will be standing depending on their record of L games and W games. 5-1. Good. 6-0 would have better and they really could have had that. Losing to non-division NEPats is better than losing to a division team. Thing is, Saints have to win those games coming up for sure. I am happy that the Saints played a hard fought game and matched Brady and Pats every step of the game. Almost. I am not happy that Payton and Brees let , gave the game back to Brady and the Pats. Even Hartley made his FG's and even that last one that was so crucial. Brady and Pats did what they do and all he knows how to do and that is win. Right at that time, the game posted up his stats at winning 4th, end of of game. Hint of what was to come. I feel awful about the game. Everyone does. I was in chat with others and I, we I am sure , are all talked out. I do not want to talk about it anymore. I just hope, want the Saints to come back better and stronger and after their bye week and finish this season strong like they can. The talent is there. The timing is theirs. These are two things that do not happen forever. The time is still for the Saints. All of the right stuff is there for them these years . They need to take away from this game better decision making. They need to get tighter in that red zone and make more TD's when they get there instead of FG's. |

Re: Loss to pats on Payton and Brees
There's no doubt the Patriots played close to their best football today .. We didn't by far and still should've won On The road against an elite QB ...
If that's what it takes for us to lose you've got to feel good about our chances . We don't play another quarterback In Drews ozone for the rest of the year. |
