Several ESPN analysts just did a story about it too. They say they've been studying the tape. And why do you think Mike Pereira would lend his name to the story, unless he thinks there's something to it as well? Does he have a grudge against the Seahawks too? His reputation as being fair, is what his current career as an officiating expert is based on. |

Re: Seattle's Defense Relies On a Brazen Tactic: Rampant Interference
Media has latched on to it. I suspect Roger will get it tightened up this weekend. It's blatantly ruining the game and goes beyond his vendetta with Payton and the Saints. I would not be surprised to see PI called early to set the tone for the rest of the playoffs. Like Sherman said, there is nothing special about what they do and I agree. Mugging receivers is fairly easy.

It is total BS that it is not called. If they hold and interfere on every pass play, then keep calling it until they quit and then you find out just how good their team is.
Give any team the right to maul your receivers without penalty and they will improve. Maybe Seattle is RG's handpicked SB winner this year...and they have been notified that the sky is the limit for them. |

We're starting to sound like those guys with tin foil hats...
It's the playoffs. Play UP to the physicality of the game. There will be untimely calls that's the nature of human error. But this is football and all we really want is a football game. My suggestion - give it right back to them. |

They have got away with it all year and nothing is going to change now, we are in for a fight today. We have to outplay them!! If Goddell wanted this crap stopped he would have said something by now and the way he loves us so much do you think he is now? No!!

And now we know and have hopefully prepared a passing game plan that expects these disruptions.

Wow. The excuse preparation is strong in here. It's a little unbecoming I must say. If we win, it'll be be because we we're the better team, not because the refs gave us a break. When have we ever got a break from the refs?...... No GB fans in here, are there?

Excuses are a part of our DNA and we're used to having them come November not January. Today is a rematch of two good teams that shouldn't be marred by ideological officiating. Good luck to you as your coach sees things from a different angle than ours. Translation - chess match. |

Re: Seattle's Defense Relies On a Brazen Tactic: Rampant Interference
You might want to let the media in on it, according to what I've been reading, Seattle's going to win because the Saints aren't used to the cold, and the Saints won't be able to overcome the crowd noise or the wet field will slow down the Saints offense or the classic the Saints can't win on the road.
As a matter of fact, this story in this thread implies the Seahawks success is due in part to their "Brazen Tactic: Pass interference" and is from the Wall Street Journal of all places. |
