I think "game manager" might be a bit over the top but I agree our game plan needs to change for road games.

Teams that win on the road can run the ball and play good defense. That formula has been true for years and years, I don't know why we expect Drew and the Saints to be the exception...

I love how this on Shayne. He sucks because he couldn't make a 48 yarder into swirling wind and rain and place holder giving him laces.

Pat's because Brady is THAT good.
Colts sucked before Luck.
Denver was not ready without Manning.
Seahawks were not contenders without Wilson.
Panthers, well, we know what Cam does for the Panthers.
San Diego will probably lose, but it can be argued that Rivers has got them where they are, no?
Kaepernick?

We live and die with Drew, it's plain and simple. When he plays bad, we lose.

Saints losing a playoff game sure twists a lot of fans panties into a knot!

I never blamed the loss on Graham, or said he should be cut!

Teams that win on the road also protect their QB -- which if anyone noticed -- Drew almost got killed this year. Remember, the Rams. And what happened last time we went to Seattle on one of the first plays -- strip, fumble recovery, TD?

Our O-line sucked -- everyone knows it -- we didn't have a run game until the last game or two of the regular season -- and our WR corps often looked like their hands were numb.

But, anyway, if some people want to run down the biggest miracle this team has ever seen ( hint, his name is Drew Brees ), go ahead and look like an idiot. Be my guest.

I like our future and am mourning the changes (turnover) that certainly will happen in the off season, or should. My only beef today, was with the application of Sproles in the backfield…he's too small between the tackles (especially against Seattle) and the screen game vs seattle is foolish anyway. Also, running wide on Seattle rarely, if ever works. And the last play by Colston, I'm sure w/ Drew's late throw, he must have felt there was no time left.

Late throw? So he was open the entire time on that play?

And how many of those ints came because opposing defenses sat 8 men back on routes and waited for the ball because they knew there was no threat of a running play and they could get pressure on Drew with 3 rushers?

Drew definitely made some boneheaded plays throughout the year, find me a QB who didn't, but to place the blame solely on him for road losses is borderline insanity.

Hopefully we emphasize the running game next year and give Drew the chance to be great again.

Re: The official ***** and moan thread

Conditions were not the best Wilson didn't throw it any better, very tough to throw a wet ball in the wind. Other than Colston no receiver had any separation. Jimmy needs to learn how to use his size and come back for the ball but he is still young to the game and can be taught. Would like to see more quick passes especially on 3rd and short. Trust the run, we ran some but still should have run more. Just watch the Pats score 43 pts and not one td pass by Brady. Maybe next year with Butler healthy we can run a true 3-4 and stop some of these runs that bounce to the outside. Defense looks promising for 2014 we need a couple hungry players next season and we will be back playing in January 2015. Now hold your heads up my fellow brothers and sisters WhoDat!

I see you are back for more. I almost mistook you for a sane person.

"Protect the QB thingy" huh? That's your comment?

Why don't you work on your grammar? "your so stupid"?

"Your" is a possessive adjective. The word, your, is used to show possession (e.g., your house, your car).

I believe "you're" is the word, for which, you were searching. "You're" is a contraction of 'you are'. It has no other uses. As in: "You are stupid."

True. I think Game Manager has a negative connotation, it's what you call guys like Trent Dilfer. Decent QBs but not what you'd call "great."

I think Drew was, is, and can be great...just maybe not quite as great as he was a couple of years ago.

I love our coach, but it seems he waited to long to make changes, like Charlie Brown, Hartley, and our run game. And can't he see Sproles is washed up? This guy has ZERO speed and no moves anymore. Horrible on Kickoffs and just watches other teams down our punts. Maybe he should get Parcells on the sidelines next year.

Sproles isn't washed up...You don't run your smallest player on routes where he's gonna get pounded

Re: The official ***** and moan thread

I like the thought of a smash mouth O, Ingram and Robinson as a 1-2 punch with Brees at the helm. Stills and (draft) another speedster with great hand and runs routes well, a Morton Anderson type kicker and beef the O-line a little, we could easily turn into a game manage team. It's been exciting all the high potency O but we can't keep it up long(Brees is getting older and with age comes decline sadly), defenses have evolved and so should we. I'm also looking forward to actually run the 3-4 D next season, it usually takes about 2 years to do though, but the way Ryan has done this season and some of the players we have it may not take that long and I hope it don't. I look for Payton to start trusting in the run game a lot more and Ryan to do his thing on D, but our special teams has stunk all year and I would like to see a coaching change there for the better, games like today special teams could have helped but as usual it was more like special ed. A good kick return man could help us win a few games over the season. Not Cadet or Sproles. I'd trade Sproles for a draft pick. Cadet has done nothing and we could use his spot for someone also.

I think it's because the Saints run game has been very inconsistent over the last 7 years, One year it's good the next it's not. But Drew, on the other hand, seems to be able to get 5,000 yards every season and put the ball in the tiniest spots 40 yards down the field. Even our run game has usually been set up by the pass. So we've all become used to it. We expect Drew to carry us because he has so many times.

Maybe it's time to change to a run first team. It looks like we have all the pieces. Maybe we pick up a right tackle and center in the draft or free agency and make the run game a primary focus.
