It takes a team to be committed to the run...5000yd qbs don't win...
If that much comes from one player..come playoff time you're easier to beat! And just in case anybody forgot Lovie Smith is in Tampa now..So the division will be tougher.

Re: What's wrong with our coach?

Better late than never but we saw what Khiry was made of in high pressure situations. Only can imagine what would've happed if we would've made those changes earlier.

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

He has been playing hurt. Before the injury...wasn't any soft talk. Wasn't soft when he bounced off dudes to score against SF in the playoffs. Least he didn't sit out the season after the injury. He does need to work on getting off the line but he's got time to improve. Real problem is we don't have a #1 wr to keep defenses off him. If we had a Josh Gordon...Jimmy'd get his catches every game.

Go the Pats :) Just to shut up the rest of them.

Chargers would be fun, too

I think we're strong contenders now. A few more pieces will make us even stronger.

Never going to hear the end of it anyway, especially if they beat the 39ers.

If I am going to hear non-sensical drivel about a team, I would rather it be a team in OUR division than the 40-whiners or PEDhawks

Re: The official ***** and moan thread

Now, I'm starting to hear some sense on this thread. If you notice, the Pats overcame injuries this year, developed a run game, Tom Brady just won against Indie with 13 completions. So, QB play is not the deal maker or deal breaker in the playoffs.

NoZone504 01-12-2014 12:19 AM

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

He's a receiver in a tight ends body..The post up routes didn't work..not bball...How they use him makes him look soft but he's far from soft..I've seen Jimmy take some mean hits and keep trucking

rezburna 01-12-2014 12:41 AM

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

He alligator arms more catches then a little bit. Bouncing off a couple tackles doesn't make him hard. He's not making a TRUE effort to truck people. The only time you really see him fight is if he's close to the end zone. Almost everytime Brees has thrown a pick this year guess who he's targeting? Yep. Jimmy "6 foot 8 but won't fight for the ball or bat it down" Graham. How the hell are you letting Earl Thomas run through you? You can't box him out? Why can't you get off the line on cornerbacks? Much less safeties and linebackers? How come we can't win jump ball fades with you in the back of the end zone?

Now I think Jimmy Graham is a great player. But as long as he's the Saints primary weapon we have a problem. Colston isn't a true number 1 anymore, and the fact that he's slow and always has been is catching up with him since he's getting older. Lance Moore has random outbreaks of his old self. Stills is under utilized. Sproles can walk. He's almost 30 and losing speed and quickness by the day. It's pretty much time to revamp this whole offense, turn Jimmy Graham into the 2nd or 3rd option, and fine a true #1 receiver and people with toughness, speed, and who can beat the press. I always felt like we were and overall slow team at every position across the board.

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

I don't know what's soft about playing with a partial tear in your foot. He was playing damn good football before that injury. I will say is that we over use him way too much. We need to find a TE in the draft that compliments him because Josh Hill is not the answer.

Re: What's wrong with our coach?

Is our main man still dating Skylene Montgomery? Maybe it was Beth that was going over the playbook!

rezburna 01-12-2014 12:47 AM

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

Jimmy Graham isn't the only guy in the NFL playing hurt. He isn't even the only guy on the Saints playing with a boo boo. I guarantee he'll still want top dollar next year for this ****ty ass playoff performance. Everytime we faced a top opponent they took him out the game. He doesn't like physicality. Whining about all those clean plays Earl Thomas made on him. Come back and attack the ball if you want the catch that bad.

Soft.

saintfan 01-12-2014 12:50 AM

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

He's not soft. That's just silly. He still has a thing or three to learn about playing the TE position - and WR position too for that matter.

But uh, no. He's not soft.

RailBoss 01-12-2014 12:50 AM

Re: I almost want Carolina to win Super Bowl

Yes it brings more focus on the NFC South including the special scheduled games. Carolina doesn't bother me or even the Bucs,
however Atlanta no way in Hell !

neugey 01-12-2014 12:52 AM

Re: Jimmy Graham... Soft ?

I wouldn't say so soft. But I will say he has to show more consistency before he can be called the best tight end in the game. He's not there yet, that honor has to go to Gronk or Witten.

saintfan 01-12-2014 12:52 AM

Re: I almost want Carolina to win Super Bowl

Carolina won't beat SF tomorrow. And Seattle won't beat them either, IMO. I figure the Whiners in in the big game with either Denver or NE. At that point I become a fan of the AFC for a day.

That is too funny Drew slicing sandwich meat while we play Chicago on the road. Unlike the Rookie some of us appreciate the humor!

Re: What's wrong with our coach?

We just need Payton to chill out on all the screen pass calls. Especially on third down. But it's like keeping Homer Simpson away from beer. Or keeping Tiger Woods away from waitresses.

Re: Maybe the Saints should sign a QB for road games!

I said that a couple of weeks ago. He can give back half of his salary. We can use that for an away QB.

Not sure if he was open entire play, tv only focuses on ball, so you couldn't see Colston running his route. Not 100% sure but looked like Drew stepped up/ moved around a little before throwing to Colston. It's not like it was a quick throw. All I'm saying, not making excuses for anyone.

Drew was the first QB to throw for 300 yards in Century Link this season. And the second QB not throw a pick there this season.

Who do you think the Saints could pick up that could play that well?

I'm not sure about tomorrow, I kinda think the Panthers defense stifles the whiners (maybe wishful thinking) but I strongly believe either them lose next week in Seattle.

To me they're all the same team. Seattle's just the best of the three.

Seattle defense is better than Carolina or San Frans defense
Seattle receivers are better than the Carolina or San Frans receivers
Russell Wilson is better than Cam Newton or Colon Kaepernick
Marshawn Lynch is better than Gore or Deangelo

I don't want any of these NFC f***ers to win the Lombardi. I'm pulling for the AFC too.

Re: I almost want Carolina to win Super Bowl

Going into the playoffs I thought the toughest team was San Fran, and I stand by that comment. But honestly, I dunno if any NFC team could beat the Broncos if they're rolling.

I cannot believe the Drew hate tonight. It is TRULY hysteria. Are you guys on your period? Hey 656, you and Pherein need to date each other -- you are a match made in a mental ward.

Re: Maybe the Saints should sign a QB for road games!

Man you guys are really disappointing you claim to be saints fan but you bash your own QB and Coach the 2 people who got us a Superbowl win last I check we still have the best road record and if the Saints address the real issue and that is our O-Line we need a better ROT Drew Brees is getting older so we need a O-Line that can block we also have to address our receiving core Lance Moore and Marques Colston and Robert Mechem are getting older they need to be replaced and Kenny Stills is Moore's replacement and Nick Toon is Colston's but Toon really need to step up. I say get rid of Will Smith,Jonathan Vilma,Roman Harper,Greer and the other CB I forgot his name. Keep Malcolm Jenkins because he stepped up a lot and keep Bush. Draft the best OLB/DE on the board at the time 2 Round get more CBs. One to replace Corey White and we should really think about signing Antonio Cromartie in this off season so we could have to shut down CBs. Our offense still got its magic but with Bree's getting hurried a lot its hard to show for it. The one thing that I stress sooooo Much is our offense is so predictable. If we fix these issues this off season we can win a superbowl

Even in the summer, you are exposed to all four seasons.

Good example of positive thinking.

Some one needs to pull the threads and posts from pre-season.
I recall all the naysayers on Ryan.
The heavy and only vocalized goal was to beat Atlanta.

The season ended in the playoffs.
This is more than anyone could have prayed for in July, if memory serves me well.

Re: The official ***** and moan thread

No moaning here. We made huge steps from last year in one season. Seattle choked us out for most of the game. Our defense is the only reason it wasn't a blowout early and their defense is in word, legit (disrupting the receivers by pushing the limits of pass int works, like it or not).
I am pumped about next season with this defense, need to make a few changes on offense to become unstoppable. We sealed our fate with the late season losses anyway this year. Hope the seahawks go to the sb (and lose), that would be better than sf or the panties, to me.

Re: The official ***** and moan thread

I don't place the blame solely on Drew, but I think we could all agree that he IS the leader of the team. When we do well he gets most of the credit, so when we play terrible --- he gets most the blame. It is what it is ... It's a QB league.

That being said, when would it be a good idea to draft our "Aaron Rodgers?" I'm curious since many of you think Drew will play forever.
