I agree. He is vital when it comes to the screen and when he is out it limits our play book. We have been careful with him and used him sparingly and he has plenty left in the tank.
Odd man out is Ingram. They found a better, younger, and cheaper option in Robinson.
I dont see Sproles going anywhere either. If Cadet could do his job as well as he does then Cadet would be doing it. Sproles is a year removed from most all purpose yards and was looking to have a career year the first half of the season. I think his lack of production was because of our blocking. Our line limited every aspect of our run game.

Re: Who to cut (cap hits included)

I could never see Sprouls gone
Granted, get a return man and let him focus in the offense

Pierre our most valuable back

It would cost more to get someone of equal talent to replace them

Lance has lost a step and his celebratory antics even when losing badly dont jive with the team directive

Smith - fork in him,

Harper is good in run defense but gets burnt

Loomis will surprise us

Remember he is the guy who upgraded to Graham from shockey

But here is the thing, no one fears PT anymore, he has not been a productive runner all season compared to Khiry or Ingram, so when the defenses see PT on the field, they pretty much know to stop the screen pass which is what has happened all season.

Actually the cut him talk is warranted because both Ingram and Robinson flourished w/o Thomas. As far as the screen game, given time Ingram and Robinson can both master it, plus their running style is a welcome addition to our offense. Something we have had since 2006 Deuce. And if we can cut Deuce, we can cut Pierre.

I know Loomis will likely restructure several players but this kinda gives yo a good indicator who may be asked to restructure or clean out their locker..

Approximated cap savings if cut (hopefully some restructure)...

Cap hit minus dead money = Cap savings if cut
Will Smith - 13,902,451 - 2,352,451 = 11,550,000
Darren Sproles - 4,250,000 - 750,000 = 3,500,000
Jabari Greer - 5,825,000 – 2,650,000 = 3,175,000
Pierre Thomas – 2,900,000 – 0 = 2,900,000
Lance Moore - 5,068,750 - 2,357,500 = 2,711,250
Roman Harper - 5,870,000 - 3,690,000 = 2,180,000
Mark Ingram - 2,359,875 - 973,500 = 1,386,375
Patrick Robinson - 2,804,333 - 1,446,833 = 1,357,500
a question of who you want and who you need
I think we still 'need' a healthy Greer.
We want Sproles and Moore, but both had down years and can be cheaply replaced
as 'Cat said, what about Bunkley at $5 mill? got to restructure or replace

Bringing up Ingram's prior years is just useless. Ingram ran the ball very well towards the end of the year, when healthy. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately kinda league. Just ask Garrett Hartley.

We need Bunkley. If we can restructure great but you need two NTs. These guys need to rotate. Jenkins was great in the beginning of the year but wore down toward the end because he played way too many downs when Bunkley was out.

True!! I have in my mock Ra'Shede Hageman DT out of Minnesota in the first, the guy can play all 3 positions on the line and commands alot of double teams letting the lb.'s crash in also would be able to rotate with anyone on the line to give them a breather, that could be a big difference in the 3-4 rotation when we carry 6 linemen and 8 lb.
