I don't think the Saints can afford a FA at corner. They've still got to find between $10 and 15 million in cap space just to sign DLP, Strief, Bush and Graham.
Besides that, the Saints had a pretty good pass defense using Lewis and White. They were second in yards allowed, 9th in yards per attempt, and allowed an 83.6 passer rating against. Also, Robinson was the projected starter at either corner or nickel back positions last season. Overall he wasn't good the year before but almost nobody on Spag's defense looked good. Robinson was able to keep up a very good completion percentage against, and passer rating against. So maybe he'll look good in Ryan's defense. I don't think the Saints can afford to fix something that wasn't that broken. |
