K. Robinson replaces P. Thomas ?????????????

not really the swap you want, Robinson replaces Ingram. power backs as of now neither has shown really any value in the passing game. right now this is the only change that makes sense. If you draft Bishop Sankey then you have a power back that replaces Ingram and puts serious pressure on Robinson and probably PT.

Cadet replaces Sproles ???????

Cadet has not really stepped up his game so i really do not see the roster spot for him

Darrins replacement? thats a hard one.

PT replacement i would have to bring in Simms/white for that and go a year to make sure. they get cadets spot. now next year if all goes well you can decide on who stays or goes

But to make a whole sale change in the backfield this year is way to risky with OC and ROT up in the air. do not mess drew up with a player that can not pick up the blitz.

Blocking and receiving are key in our offense. 3rd down style back is such a key component in our system.

must do all three well - Run Catch and Block

running is an accent that you want to perfect but in no way do you risk drew with a whole sale change.

the least amount of impact to our system would be
replacing ingram with Sankey
replace cadet with Simms or White (bit riskier move)
Let the year play out and see what happens

lets make it easy PT and darrin retire next year leaving us with
Robinson, Shankey. Simms/white
jeanpierre and MarchingOn like this.

You could trade Sproles and get a possible 3rd or a sure 4th and pick up a pretty good back with that pick.
Cadet - he has shown me nothing other than taking up space on the roster. A good return man could easily take his slot, not necessarily a RB. but a young reciever
Pt - who has a complete game could be used as a situational back while Robinson, Ingram , and the back we got with the Sproles pick would do fine.
Myself I would like another power back instead of a (Sproles, Bush) type. Smash mouth opens up the throwing lanes better than the cute screen game we have. To beat teams like Seattle we have to play smash mouth football!!

then you should like Bishop Sankey the most of the group. He should be had in probably the bottom of round 2. nice thing about him he is a much better reciever than either Ingram or Robinson. which is good because you pick among the three after 2014.

in all odds he would take the pressure off signing Ingram in 2015. if you really are solid on shankey on draft day Ingram becomes excellent trade bait, last year of his contract and all. the saints can package ingram for for a pick and player combo trade.

either way it offers flexibility options for dealing with the cap this year and next

thats what the saints need.

now if the saints land shankey and say the saints love the kid. Options open up and they could package Ingram/Sproils in one of those funky trade with picks and players and also end up with Sims/white later in draft. i perfer Sims If the gamble pays off and both of the rookies work out great in 2014 the saints would be sitting pretty cap wise in 2015 as far as the RB position goes. No pressure to sign players or cut players. you would be saving money going into the 2015 off season at the RB position.

It's all a gamble but when your hampered by the cap you gotta take some risks. this year is looks to be a good year to gamble at RB because the RB styles fit the saints mold
