We have all of our priorities locked down and we improved our roster by signing Byrd and Bailey....people are still talking about the Saints' cap situation?

If a few weeks back the saints were not so close to the cap they would have put a 2nd round tender on him.Low end tender was only to buy time saints lucky someother team did not offer even more money for Bush.Hes a very good player well worth no easy worth the money.

Contract restructures don't have to be reported to the league office so I wouldn't be surprised if a few of our guys have restructured here recently to free up some extra money.

Didn't I read somewhere where he was hoping we wouldn't match because he wanted a chance to start? If true, I sure hope it doesn't affect his play - and I don't think it would. I'm just tossing spit balls...

In my world that's a good thing. If he was the type of player that cared more about the money than getting to play I'd be worried.

At some point, this gets really fishy.

How did they enter FA with $2m in cap space and do all that they did?

Its not a huge loss, though a little bit disappointing. It just kind of begs the question how all of this is happening with so little wiggle room.

Certainly wouldn't be the first time a team circumvented the cap...

Their GM is too lazy to creatively structure contracts that have a low cap hit in the first year and can then be restructured later. But no, we're cheating and their GM doesn't suck.
