Cheesy huh?

The NFL draft we all watch is the cheesiest production I have seen in a long while. 4 days of horse trading humans dressed in bad suits and covered in bling. Once picked they glad hand the villain Roger Goodell while dawned in a pimped out cap worn incorrectly and a jersey with no name. A gala even where college students celebrate their first employment in a field they did not major in while in College.

Cheesy huh? Anyone ever look at the filmography of Mark Hamil? other than Star Wars (Greatest movie ever) it is filled with movies like Corvette Summer...

LOL! Movie critics that have yet to see the movie they are critiquing...

Yes, Costner sports movies epitomize cheese. Each film has to have that little soliloquy where we learn how sports are a metaphor for life. Love it, hate it, it all comes down to your preference

I stopped watching the draft several years ago, right after it became a major media production. Now I get an alert when we are picking and tune in for 3 minutes every hour.

Movie review writers getting bribed for good reviews ?

Wish I could find the video of reviewers (with many having no education or background) being wined, dined et al and then writing their reviews...

This is the same industry who so cavalierly opines and uses our money to influence our political process that is corrupt as they are...

An entire industry of "critiquing" is snake oil to me... Just from the mindset that there are opinions that are paid for having to do with Art and Entertainment which are completely subjective and personal preference.

Ever watched Chopped on Food Network? I love the defensive "well that is the way I like it" responses to someone being told their flank steak is over cooked.

Its all judging and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like a thick dark almost gravy-like gumbo, some like a thinner lighter soup-like gumbo. If you get one of each on a judging panel, who knows what will win.

BTW... Tin Cup, 3000 Miles to Graceland, both excellent movies, both somewhat cheesy but that doesn't mane cheesy a bad thing.
