The QB that some people wanted in that era (Delhomme) went on to win an NFC Championship for his team, and go to a Pro Bowl, neither of which Brooks ever accomplished in his extremely average and mediocre NFL career as a Saint. Brooks left New Orleans and went to Oakland where he continued his trend of mediocrity. Delhomme left, led his new team to the Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, and still holds passing records for the Panthers that have not been topped.
Good point... I do recall now how Jeff Blake got the shaft by Hazbeen.

Then I'm a moron.
In the "Brooks era" we were 45-51.
He had 120 TD's vs 84 ints. He also lost 23 fumbles. That's 107 turnovers in a little over 5 seasons. His career passing rating is 78.5

Stellar numbers that clearly merit honoring.

We also averaged nearly 30 points a game while he was here, had a crap o-line and to say the defense was sorry would be kind. One thing I've learned is haters gonna hate. Rock right on. He is by many measures the 2nd be QB we've ever had. I could argue the same point I've argued a thousand times, but the haters will hate in spite of reason. I will celebrate with him. You can hate on him some more. He won't lose any sleep...and neither will I.

Our best year under Brooks we averaged 27 ppg; other years it was closer to 22 ppg. His last 3 years we went 8-8, 8-8, 3-13.
You can celebrate mediocrity if you want, but get your numbers straight before you start calling people 'moron'

My thoughts exactly. When we were down in the 4th he was excellent.

First off calling some one a moron for disagreeing with you is uncalled for. And calling him our 2nd best QB makes me wonder how far back you go as a fan. Billy Kilmer, Jim Everett, Archie Manning and even Bobby Hebert were all better than him. Stats don't tell the whole story.

No need for insults, it really doesn't further your argument. As far as being a I didn't hate the guy, I just hated having him for a QB.

Didn't Archie Manning throw more picks then TD'S in his career? Brooks was a good quarterback. He wasn't elite, but he was good...and better then Jake Delhomme. The game manager who benefitted from a stellar run game and outstanding defense. All Brooks ever had was Joe Horn and Deuce McAllister. The likes of Boo Williams and Jerome Pathon is what he was dealing with.

That you people take things personally is not my problem. I'd take Aaron Brooks over any of those guys.

I shared my opinion. Been doing it here for a decade. I will keep on doing so. When I insult you or anyone else personally you'll know it. That you people wear your feelings on your sleeve is not my problem.

You're right about one thing tho. Stats don't tell the whole story, but with Brooks there's no way to convince the haters, stats or not. Morons can't see past their tunnel vision. They don't want to.

Now thanks pops, for the moral lesson on what's called for and what isnt. I'll take care of my own thought process big fella, if you don't mind...or even if you do.

Don't even waste your time. I've wasted enough here trying to talk sense into some of these people.

BH is in it. Some times we do celebrate mediocrity.

Let's not get high on our success, there are many years I would have given away a kidney for mediocrity.
