this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think the problem is drafting more than it is coaching. Every FA LB we signed comes here and plays about the same as they did with their other team (Lofton, Hawthorne, Vilma, Haralson, Shanle). Every LB that left here ...

Every FA LB we signed comes here and plays about the same as they did with their other team (Lofton, Hawthorne, Vilma, Haralson, Shanle). Every LB that left here for another team ends up playing about the same as when they were here (Dunbar, Casillas, Fujita). |

Re: Saints Linebackers
JR and Jordan are the only ones getting pressure. Our biggest problem on D this year comes from the DT/NT position. No push is being generated in the middle, Hicks has been complete **** this year and everyone else is worse than him at rushing the QB. If you pay attention you can see a rotation of DTs through the game on passing downs, this is because none of them are getting it done.
Hicks is my most disappointing player for the year right now. Bunkley has never been a pass rusher. I am afraid we don't have an in house solution to this problem. Imagine how well our D would be doing with Suh or McCoy in the middle pushing the pocket and setting up Cam/JR... Seriously watch the game tape... no push in the middle and the QB can step up freely 90% of the time. |

But it was there effort and assignments (covering not just RBs, TEs, but WRs) and speed that was most impressive... |

Re: Saints Linebackers
sorry everyone yells about players and assistance coaches but why in the world does everyone leave the one person who is truly responsible for this mess. The staff and players are the responsibility of one person ROB RYAN
Why does every one leave ROB out of this topic. Love drinking with the guy? his defense has not done anything since the bye week of last year. get some guts and go after the person you should be head hunting for. |

Re: Saints Linebackers
^^ This. If you watch any non-Saints games at all, games with good teams in them, you will see how SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW the Saints are, on both sides of the ball. Seattle's D swarming to the ball, the Giants D, the Broncos receivers breaking free, the Eagles on kick returns.... it sure feels like all these other units have lightning fast guys on them, compared to the Saints....speed speed speed, it's what this team needs.
