I'm thinking there may be a connection there.

I can't figure it out, we looked like a top 10 D during pre-season just to fail miserably during the season, they had me drinking the kool-aid by the gallon.

And in the offseason someone came up with a brilliant idea that we should change our tackling technique. Spend entire TC "forcing turnovers" and the final result is this 2014 garbage.

That was Sean Payton's direction, can't blame Rob for that change.

Yes. I was thinking the same. I think that Sean has too much power regarding defense.

I like a swarming D. This season has looked like every player was playing for only themselves, they didn't execute well as a unit, none tackled well, missed assignments and the list could go on. It was like O.K. go to your position and good things will come, I blame the players to a point in particular the tackling but these position coaches that don't get in their face for missing tackles and not performing their assignments are on the coaches. It seems we are more passive on the D than we are the O. I see it this way, our D coaches lokk like they really don't care if a player can go or goes to the next level and as long as they fill a few voids at any position that their job has been done. Their wrong to be this way. We need new coaches for the D, period.

No. They need to keep a d coach for more than 2 years. He is a good coach but suffered a lot of defensive injuries.

If Ryan does leave I would like ole'Romeo. I look at our D, were soft with no attitude, Crennel is all about attitude, in your face type. The good ole' buddy thing might not go so well with him.

Pretty sure the idea in the offseason was to find a way to create turnovers since we really hadn't the year before. How does that turn into SP instructed the defense to strip the ball and forget to tackle?

I didn't see a lot of trying to knock the ball out anyway, I saw people out of position and/or taking bad angles. ****ing SP for the defense blowing dick, GTFOH with your agenda.

I thought RR did a pretty decent job today. With a bunch of guys that never played together (which showed in the 1st half), they played pretty danged good team defense in the 2nd half.

RR needs 2 or 3 more Big Uglies in the middle for run support & a solid brickhouse MLB with speed for both run support & pass coverage.

I hate the torches & pitchforks mentality towards a guy working with an obvious lack of the right defensive personnel (NT & MLB) and with the in-game disadvantages put on him by his turnover-prone offense & his whack-ado-doofus special teams kick coverage units.
