I didn't realize there was that huge of a discrepancy from top to bottom. I think I read an article a week or two ago about Loomis finding more value in trading up. Maybe we should stop that. |

Re: The Saints have had the fewest amount of draft picks in the NFL since 2006
i still like the way the pats do things. let solid players walk that want to much money. sign some mid level free agents with a proven track record and put the savings in the bank.
a accumulate picks to address depth upgrades when the core is reestablished then go out and spend the big bucks on solid impact players they do not let the team be held hostage by just a few players. get the depth first let replaceable players walk as fa and get the comp picks get mid level fa to fill the gaps the bench can not draft to replenish the depth then bang FA they plan this out better than any team in the nfl. |

Makes sense. We fill holes with free agents so we never get comp picks, and we always trade up, not down. Not surprising

2 Super Bowls in the top. 1 Super Bowl in the bottom. Doesn't seem to matter.

Re: The Saints have had the fewest amount of draft picks in the NFL since 2006
Draft picks aren't everything, but it sure does give more chances at better players. The more quality players you have, the better depth you get. You can get busts just like in Free Agency, whereas the vets are more proven, but we won the superbowl with a good mix of Free Agents, and young draft picks in their prime. Their is no right way, but I'd love to see some more home grown talent on this team.

And how many draft picks for New England are still on the team? IIRC, one year they had like 12 picks and only 1 made the roster

Re: The Saints have had the fewest amount of draft picks in the NFL since 2006
Cinci has the the biggest choke artist at QB not named Romo or Manning and really should be a yearly AFC championship contender since like 2011, St Louis needs a QB, and the Eagles switched HCs and have had two 10 Win seasons under Chip Kelly, so they're up and coming. Not bad if you ask me.
