Bree's didn't like graham as much as we thought. Well at least in terms of money I don't think he honestly cares about being a saint. Maybe he was targeting jimmy so much to get him paid also.(no doubt him and jimmy are friends) I believe if Bree's would have taken a paycut jimmy would still be in New Orleans.

Re: Saints Trade Graham to the Seahawks

What games did Max play last year? Was he injured at the start of the year or at the end?

The reason I ask is that if he was injured at the end of the season he could still be limited and may take a while to get back up and running.

Not sure, but he did play in their play-off games... So I would think he is healthy now

Sounds like Pete Carroll thinks he can use JG better.

Wait until Jimmy gives a half hearted attempt on a Russell Wilson pass and it gets picked, then they'll understand why none of us are worried about the trade.

Welcome back.
Now jimmy graham cracker is gone. I must admit I love all of the optimism I'm reading on here but let me shed some light on a few things. First things first who in the f@#$ is drew gonna throw the ball to now?
Let's take a look at the receiving stat line from last year's Pittsburgh game:

Player Team Recpt Yards TD Long
----------------------------------------------------------
Kenny Stills NOR 5 162 1 69
Mark Ingram NOR 2 -1 0 0
Pierre Thomas NOR 2 16 0 13
Josh Hill NOR 1 17 0 17
Nick Toon NOR 2 17 1 11
Marques Colston NOR 3 16 1 8
Ben Watson NOR 1 15 1 15
Travaris Cadet NOR 2 11 0 6
Erik Lorig NOR 1 4 1 4

19 completions, 5 TDs, no interceptions, and most importantly no receptions by JG, who actually played in the game.

Questions?
We thought oops I'm sorry I thought drew was horrible this past year, this year oh my goodness he's gonna be worst! We resign m Ingram, I like the guy but he's injury prone. I have one question just oooonnnee question, why in the hell we let sprolles go to keep jg just to get rid of his ass this year?
Apples and gorillas there. Sproles wasn't let go to keep Graham. Sproles was let go because his cap number was going up to over $3 million. That was a price the team wasn't willing to pay.
Can anyone please tell me where the silver lining is in this bs?! Our top, let me repeat OUR TOP RECEIVER IS GONE!! ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME! Who dats I'm a die hard fan but if we continue down this road I'm gonna be a dead fan! No ol! No real receiving threat! No running game! No offense.
This is just a bit over the top, IMHO. The trade improved the OLine. Do you really believe that none of Colston, Cooks, Stills, Toon, or Hill are not a receiving threat? As I stated in another post, Brees has thrown for over 25000 yards, 194 TDs, and 2400+ completions in the last 5 years, which include 4 5000+ yard passing seasons. Do you really believe that JG caught 2400 balls for 194 TDs and 25000 yards during that period? Really?!

As for the run game, Ingram has come into his own. And as I just said, the trade improved the OLine. As for improving the running game, there will now actually be tight ends that block on running plays instead of hand waving as Graham often did. Also there is no more "Graham is in the game, it's a passing down."
For all of your sakes let's hope and pray our defense becomes a top 5 defense cause offensively we're gonna be worst than last year. I won't be surprise and you mark my words if we won't be last in our division this year.
I'm with you on the defense. That would be great. But you can forget the offense having a significant dropoff. 9 straight years of top 5 offense in yards, and top 10 in scoring, isn't going to derail because #80 has moved on. As long as #9 has the protection of a interior OLine and a more than passable running game, the offense will produce.

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.
