In that case the team does cut the player to avoid the roster bonus and renegotiates a new deal, or more precisely, signs the pre-negotiated new deal. The previous contract has to be voided before a new one can take its place. Cutting the player is how this is accomplished. |

Ran straight into the trash more than any other of our LBs vs the run. Sucks vs the run worse than Lofton, sucks vs the pass. 2nd string and 3rd string if we draft LBs well. |

He's middle of the pack for starting lb's. He not great, but he's nowhere as horrible as you claim

Re: Hawthorne takes pay cut to stay
Both Hawthorn and Lofton showed up a few Sundays.
Both had good 4-5+ tackle games. But just like ALL the others, they had 1z games, or zeros. Nobody showed up every week or in back-to-back weeks. NOBODY had weekly Vilma 8+ numbers...NOBODY. What we really need is some consistency. Somebody(s) that can give us some solid play at their spot EVERY week. Control their niche every week, or at least 12 weeks out of 16. Every player will get out matched or man handled every now and then. 4 good/decent games out of 16 weeks just won't cut it. |
