Jr does not require double teams so that leaves everyone to block hicks on that side of the line. get NT solved and the rest will fall into line. till then the front 3 of the saints will be a bunch of push overs. |

Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
Someone like Shelton would be a dream at 13 and then to add an ILB like Anthony or McKinney in the 2nd round would already make that front 7 a whole lot better.

Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
He isn't in the same universe as JJ Watt. He's an average to slight above average DE but not great and certainly not even close to a JJ Watt talent. He has ONE above average year out of 4! He is a solid DE but isn't a superstar talent.

Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
We only line up in a 3-4 about 33% of the time so we really need to stop analyzing these players as they relate to our "base" defense. Jordan and Hicks hardly ever line up as 5 techniques.

Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
I do agree with that statement, now my question is why get 3-4 players that excel in a 3-4 and put them in a 4-3 or 4-3 players that don't excell in a 3-4. Why not get players that fit the scheme and beef it up from there. Recent examples, Byrd and Ellerby 3-4 players at their best. Hawthorn 3-4. Jordan 4-3 it makes our D weak.
