Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
Maybe I remember this wrong, but didn't Jordan play in a 3-4 defense in college?
At least I remember people saying that he would fit better in the Saints' defense after the signs indicated that they were moving towards a 3-4 look from GG's 4-3. |

But yes, I get it with Shelton. He is a force in the middle. |

Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
He did indeed... And he would probably dominate on a regular basis if he played most of his snaps at the 5 technique. Unfortunately though he's spent the vast majority of his pro career lined up at left DE in 4 man fronts even though we've supposedly been a 3-4 defense for two years.

Re: New Orleans Saints, defensive lineman Cameron Jordan working on contract extension
This is a great signing. Cam is a cornerstone of the D-Line and he draws a double team wherever he lines up on the D-Liine. Get him signed now while he has little leverage and that way you don't have to overpay him like we did with Jimmy. As fas as everyone saying that he's too light in the pants, Cameron Jordan is 6'4, 287 lbs, JJ Watt is 6'5 289 lbs. Please stop saying that he's light in the pants. he is the right size and has the ability to provide adequate pressure. Now did he underwhelm last year? Yes he did and I'm sure he knows this. But please stop saying he's too small to play the position. If we put him on the trading blck, the phone wouldn't stop ringing for this guy. I guarantee if we can get another True 5-Technique DE to play opposite him instead of a NT/DT in Akiem, we would see just how good Cam is.

Yes Sir you are correct. Cam was a 3-4 5 Technique at Cal. And a darn good one, good enough that Bill Belicheck and The Patriots were looking at him if we didn't draft him.
