I keep hearing how meaningless preseason is, but its weird how this looked exactly like the team we watched lose last year in the regular season.

Both lines getting punked.
Defense giving up big stupid plays, on 3rd & 4th & long.
Stupid penalties. Anyone who cant figure out where to line up, or how to
figure out where the line of scrimmage is, shouldnt play football.
No pass rush.
Poor blitz pickup.
Some flashes of offense.

Looks like the backups are chips off the old starters blocks.

It sure looks like real problems to me.
For now, we suck.

The thing is, you could be right are it could be nothing. I get that people aren't impressed. I'm never impressed by these games, no matter what happens. There just isn't any way of knowing how guys will be lined up or how much harder they will play when it actually matters.

I remember in Sean's first year here we went 1-3 in pre-season. It wasn't just the record that looked bad. I remember we got blown out by Dallas in one of those games, 30-7. They looked completely inept and were coming off that 3-13 season. We all had high hopes for Brees, but it just looked like the team was too bad.

Well, we all remember how that season ended up, and we beat that same Dallas team 42-14, or whatever it was. Now we could have an identical performance in this pre-season and end up being bad. The point is that it tells us almost nothing. That's just how I see it. I'm not justifying any of the bad, but I've seen too many weird things in these games to really form an actual opinion over it.

thats such a fantastic point, BM, that I just happened to invoke the horrible Shreveport Cowboys preseason game in another thread, and I noted that a few weeks later, a certain guy blocked a punt vs. Atlanta, and the rest is history.

Suffice to say, we look like complete garbage now, but that doesnt mean I wont be there for the opener, and I'll be there all season, raising hell, and I
