this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The topic renders me speechless. With this coaching staff, anyway....

Re: A Thread for the non-Chicken Little's
What happened to the Payton that kicks onside kicks after halftime? I want that guy back and we need some playmakers to stretch the field and not drop balls. Defenses just have to pull safeties to the line and key on Ingram. Hopefully Spiller will provide that and it also sucks not having Lewis and the one who never plays which im too upset to mention names. Its only one game and its early. I still see 9 wins I just hope its enough to get in.

Re: A Thread for the non-Chicken Little's
I have a different take...
Our offense was below average a lot of times today. YES, the offense. Colston is simply not the player he used to be. Far too many drops by BC and Colston. Slick Willie needs to be more involved in the offense. Our defense has a ton of new guys who held their own today... They'll get there. We often kept providing opportunities for the offense to score points (yet was stalled in the red zone). With more playing time, we will do a better job. Penalties kept drives alive and subsequently turned into point for the Redbirds. No shame... Arizona is a quality team. One solid lock and positive is the kicker. Those balls were straight down the middle |

Re: A Thread for the non-Chicken Little's
13 dink-and-dunks for 149 yards.
If we can get a few more down the field targets that would be a positive. Brees had time, just did not see anyone open. Play calling has to get better. Have to start running the ball with 1 back and spread set. I think the almost sacks have to just close the deal. We've got talent. Limit the mistakes. Make plays in the moments that matter. Zona was 7-1 before Palmer went down...and their cover guys are top shelf. |

Apologies for quoting myself, but since the discussion has jumped here, well, here it is...

Re: A Thread for the non-Chicken Little's
SP needs to go with Colston. The score was 17-16 at one point and we still refuse to run the ball. It's like the opposite of Les Miles. 50 passes compared to 20 runs is stupid. We are not Baylor or TCU. This is the pros. It's almost like he is strictly trying to get Brees records instead of wins. The young defense did appear to have talent and a bright future.
