Saints trade Akiem Hicks for Patriots Michael Hoomanawanui

Hicks is going to be just like Ninkovich. He will go there and shine. He has the talent but has not developed. That's coaching.

Not a big fan of this trade on paper.

They get an underachieving DL with All-Pro potential
We get an over-achieving TE, who's mostly a blocker, with very limited upside.

I realize we were probably going to lose him to Free Agency next year, but other than that I just don't get it.

I don't like the Ninkovich comparisons because Nink just couldn't stay healthy with us or with Miami. Had he been able to stay healthy he'd probably still be a Saint. The Ninkovich you see now is not the same Ninkovich we had.

Besides, he's a 3-4 OLB and at the time we were running a pure 4-3.
