I gave my opinion on both sides of the ball in this thread. And when it comes to the defense, I really don't care about how much time they're on the field when they show ZERO resistance. You keep bringing up how many points we scored. You're argument is that the defense was on the field too much. It doesn't matter that the opening drive was a field goal instead of a touchdown. The point was simple: You had the whole half plus a long drive to open the second half to allow the defense to rest, and they still got torched right off the bat. In the first quarter, before the defense had any excuse of being tired, they were giving up huge yards. It was fortunate that we got the turnovers. And yes, those WERE bad throws. Especially the first one, which was woefully late on an out route. That bailed them out. The fact that they got the interceptions doesn't take away from the fact that they were getting pushed around the whole way down the field. There are better teams than the Eagles who won't make those mistakes. And I'll say it one more time... If they can get 3 and out's, why can't the Saints? If you're not getting abused, you're not going to be on the field long enough to get overly tired. How do you think some games end in scores like 7-3? Neither team is moving the ball, but both defenses manage to keep playing well given that, well, you know, it's 7-3. As far as how young the defense is, that isn't an excuse for Rob considering they were bad last year as well. He doesn't have a track record for cultivating talent. He has so-so years, and bunch of not so good years as you look through his entire resume'. You wanna fire Payton? Ok, I've made the point he should be under fire, many times before. I don't disagree with you on his own responsibility. You know what some say to that? "Sean won a super bowl, Rob didn't". It doesn't matter who you talk to in here, someone always has an excuse for somebody. You know what I say? They are ALL blowing their jobs right now. There was no offense or defense in this game. The score could have been better if the offense had played better, but how much better? Neither unit played well. It didn't end better, it ended horribly. There's nothing else to say. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: For the love of Peat, FIRE RR
You can be in denial all you want but history is fact. And the fact is, everywhere RR has been, he has failed after 1 good season. Since you are so smart, explain that.
Do you think players don't know how to play football unless they have someone, other than players, to learn from? Wtf is the point of coaching then? Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk |

We have to draft or sign good free agent MLB. Stephone Anthony needs help. If he keeps playing with this below average MLBs his career will be nothing but mediocre as a Saint. "One man trying to correct other people mistakes."

It doesn't even matter if Allen is better or not. At least it would be something different.

Re: For the love of Peat, FIRE RR
Blame should be laid on both sides of the ball. Did you see how many times they sacked our quarterback?!?!
I agree with the house cleaning on D. But, this team exposed us on both sides of the ball. Embarrassing. |

Re: For the love of Peat, FIRE RR
titans have a good defense and we still put up close to 500 yards of offense. BS, that was the worst offense in the league and they were world beaters. 49 points last week, 34 this week.

Re: For the love of Peat, FIRE RR
I do think its sort of retarded how we keep switching between 3-4 and 4-3, which is why I don't think Allen is a permanent solution. That being said, either Rob Ryan is the problem... or we aren't allowing him to do what he wants. Both scenarios make me think what is the point of him being here.
