Austin Johnson’s exile did not last long.
The Saints brought the fullback back to the practice squad on Thursday after releasing him earlier this week. New Orleans has long liked to use a fullback as part of its offense, but Johnson lost snaps to tight end Michael Hoomanwanui, who has been filling some of the fullback duties. The Saints released offensive tackle Bryan Witzmann from the practice squad to make room for Johnson. Re: Saints bring Austin Johnson back to practice squad
I think you have to actually be active on game day. He didn't dress out over the last 2 or 3 weeks so he must have barely come in under the limit.

Re: Saints bring Austin Johnson back to practice squad
He played a few games for us last year too, though. Is the rule six career games active, or is it that you have to be active for at least six in a season? I can't remember anymore. Guess I should look that up now. Then again, it's only Austin Johnson, lol.

Re: Saints bring Austin Johnson back to practice squad
Man has always done good things, he should be on that active squad and playing...
Assuming we're committed to the run... Now, I'm a Sean Payton fan and will probably open my wrists when he joins forces with Jurrah in Big D, but... I am of the conviction that Sean Payton only runs the ball to remind himself how often he's actually calling pass plays! |

Put fullback on active, Hightower on practice and give Murphy a shot!

Re: Saints bring Austin Johnson back to practice squad
I would love to see a game this year where the FB gets 2-3 TDs. Probably will too now that everyone is starting to contribute.
