This particular trend goes back long before Rob Ryan, you're right. But this isn't Dennis Allen's defense. Rob Ryan doesn't have a set defense. That's why the knock has always been on him that his defenses are too confusing for his own team and do the opposite for the opponent as a result. He's been in a lot of places and been fired every time.

Why do you suppose that is? Face it, he's terrible. Any influence Allen has only makes it that much worse. The guy had a terrible defense when he was with Denver and somehow got hired as the Raiders head coach because, well... They're the Raiders. The whole defensive staff is stale.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I appreciate what you had to say Burningmetal. That's exactly how I'm looking at the situation and probably not expressing myself rationally in the emotion of the moment. I agree 100% with your take.

I hear you, man. It is quite difficult to contain the frustration for me as well. Felt the schedule was set on a tee for us, and we blew it.

We don't have a defensive scheme....that's the problem. At this point I don't care who is the DC....until we get players for a particular scheme we will continue to suck.
