I think because Dennis Allen was once a head coach (a bad one) people automatically assume he's calling the shots over Rob. There is no evidence of that. He's an assistant, period.![]()
Rob doesn't run the 3-4 or 4-3 exclusively. He runs whatever he feels like. He thinks he's going to fool someone that way, and if you look at what's happening, it isn't exactly working. Everyone keeps trying to say we're running a system Rob doesn't want to run. What system does he run? Do you really know? The guy outmarts himself and everybody wants to give him a pass. I don't get it. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: The positive Rob Ryan thread
First of all our defense will continue to suck as long as Payton gets the final say in position coaches. I also believe Payton has more input in the defense than we think.

Another agree sanders, i think payton does have is hand in too many cookie jars. Kinda like al davis calling down to the field tell the coach to throw the long ball when he felt it

20 in yards, 24 in points.
they hadd teebag as their qb. actually he did a great job that season considering... they're offense was 23 and 25... yikes they did not play the cowboys that season. clearly you're both confused |

Re: The positive Rob Ryan thread
All the good ole' boys need to go, Johnson, Vitt, Allen. Ryan is great at lb.'ers, one of the best but a DC not so great. He took the job knowing he would be stuck with the good ole' boys wheather he liked it or not and things are not working so well. If any DC is stuck it;s going to be the same thing, either Payton wakes up or our D will continue to lose game after game after game no matter the talent we have on the D.

Re: The positive Rob Ryan thread
Yea i got it confused ill admit that but they were also t-28th in ints and t-26th in forced fumbles and the only good thing is that they were t-10th in sacks, so including the yards and points allen wasnt blazing the trail in the DC world. Yea tebow was their qb and were second to last in passing but they were 1st in rushing. Not great but they were 8-8 won the divison and beat big benny in the wild card.

Re: The positive Rob Ryan thread
I didn't remember Allen being the Raiders coach back in 2012, but I remembered vividly how bad the Broncos defense was that year. As for the year he WAS with the Broncos, they might not have had an exciting offense but it was a ball control offense. If you're defense is off the field you can't blame the offense for their struggles.
But again, look at how bad his defense's were in Oakland. That's his "specialty" so that reflects on him as the head coach just as it does being a coordinator. I AM NOT in the "Dennis Allen is running the defense, not Rob" crowd. I hold Rob the most responsible. But Dennis Allen is definitely not the answer in my mind. I'm tired of that whole staff. |

all bad head coaches but good d coords. I dont know that DA is the answer either, but he could take over right now and would our defense get worse?? |
