I've never had a problem admitting Strief's struggles. It's never been anything personal, but he just isn't very good. Getting blown up by Watt is not about to be the scale tipper. He continues to start due to the Saints' years of refusal to properly address the tackle position. They have always made it a priority to pay money on interior linemen, and stick random dude's at tackle.

They finally got lucky that Armstead fell into their laps a couple of years ago, and then last year they took who, in my opinion, was the worst among all tackles who were projected within the first two rounds. If Peat ever becomes even serviceable, similar to Jon Stinchcomb, I think it will take him a long time to get there (like the aforementioned Stinchcomb).

We should have taken Marcus Peters at that spot.

+1. I hope the kid works out but even that (Stinchcomb status) is a big IF.
