![]() Saw a highlight of Robinson of the Jags doing the same thing but no call. IMHO the officiating in New Orleans was bad yesterday. |

The officiating in the NFL as a whole is a ****ing joke, its one of the many reason why this season I watched football on Saturday and only Saints games on Sunday. |

Re: officiating
the officiating was so bad I have rank it up there at top of the dung pile. If the NFL wanted conspiracy theories to end this game did little to help there cause. Browner did some bone head things but I will admit some of the penlites he got called for were not called on the panthers. He must be on the NFL hit list.
We lost this game do to bonehead mistakes in the secondary and the inability to stop the run on the edges yet again. 2 TD i credit them to Chris Owens and Kyle Wilson and their bone head play. This is what happens when back ups start. Leaving Browner of all people out on the island of misfit toys all by himself was, is and always will be a mistake. we know that. that is one reason i was so so about the signing. saints are not deep in the secondary when it comes to veteran talent. One injury and the mad hatters tea party commences. |

Re: officiating
Well here is the thing. When you are undefeated the refs will GIVE you whatever calls you need. The way to get the calls to go your way, is to be a GOOD football team. When you suck, the refs will be like "talk to the hand" and they look the other way. All day long.
This year it feels like I've seen more Saints players being crybabies, looking around for the flag after plays, waving their arms around, than ever before under Payton. They act like they suck, like they need help from the refs, and it shows. There were a couple of plays yesterday where I noticed the Panthers ball carrier would get tackled, hit the ground, and he'd ROLL FORWARD and the refs would give them another three, four yards on the spot of the ball. Why don't the Saints do stuff like that? Because they SUCK. Back when we were good, we used to get away with all kinds of stuff and get favorable calls going our way, all the time. |

For years I have argued that when teams are good, officials also believe those teams are good. The officials have preconceptions that colors events. Officials believe that good teams making what seems to be good plays is normal. Officials believe that something was amiss when bad teams make what seems to be good plays. |

And yes I firmly believe the Panthers win was aided by the bad calls and lack of calls.

Re: officiating
I refuse to complain. The years when we had a winning record we were one of the least penalized teams in the league. This year, we are 4-8. We're not gonna get the calls. It is what it is. We need to get better.
