Michael Thomas vs Illinois (2015) | Draft Breakdown

on second thought my position on him has changed. He was not targeted enough and the qb was mediocre. He will not be the number 1 on our team if he is drafted and that may help. His only bad game in these clips was Illinoise. I saw him run after the catch also and get out of tough situations. With two top otions on the team already, he benefits as the number 3 or 4 and could take over for Coleman if he doesn't cut it.

He might fall to round 3 where he could be a steal.

Since we have a TE now no need to look into those. Onto DE, LBs.

Also, Miller is more unadaptable from that system. Thomas dealt with contact and might be more NFL ready.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

Laquon Treadwell WR Mississippi 6020 221
Josh Doctson WR TCU 6030 202 4.50

Tyler Boyd WR Pittsburgh 6015 200
as a first rounder I never understood. In the second he is an option. what I like is his silky smooth route running. He is a natural WR with great hands. Size and top end speed are the knocks but being were you are suppose to be goes a long way in the saints offense. A big plus is this over-*the*-middle toughness. He reminds me of Keenan Allen, Lmao I just google him and NFL did the same thing. Allen was compared to Jordy Nelson, maybe I should rethink this. But will Boyd drop into the 3rd round? Allen shocked many by being there in the third because of the same type of knocks against him.

But it is the mid to late rounds I think the saints will take a WR as usual

Tajae Sharpe, WR, UMass 6025 200 4.55
Geronimo Allison, WR, Illinois 6021b 197 4.59
still looking a few others

Couple of 7/UDFA?
Cody Core WR Mississippi 6025 205 4.45
Mike Thomas, WR, S. Miss 6025 210 4.52
Trevor Davis, WR California 6011 188 4.42

Actual this might turn out to be one of the better class of UDFA at WR that we have seen in while

Will...

Fleener doesn't have a history of reliable hands on crucial plays...

Thomas is not making it past us the mid-second round...

Coleman is not a core No. 1 / X-receiver...

Su'a Cravens anyone? LB - USC Hadn't seen his name thrown around here all that much. USC Pro day is slated for 3/23/16. From what I've read, he has good coverage skills, speed & instincts.

He did the Thomas Davis thing - he was a strong safety that converted to a linebacker...

At his pro-day, wouldn't mind seeing if he could convert to a strong safety because we're looking at a contract year for Kenny Vaccaro...

You know, hadn't thought of that possibility till you brought up his name...

Su'a Cravens SS/LB is an interesting option. Put a few pounds on the kid and make him a WLB or back to SS. either way he would be a welcomed addition to special teams.

The kenny is a valid point.

this is a good year for SS/LB and FS/CB types. I would not mind if the saints nabbed two in the draft to upgrade depth and special team play.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft Prospect Thread ...............

OLB Deion Jones 6007 222 showed off his wheels at LSU's Pro Day on Monday by running a 4.39 followed by a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash.

Maybe I need to rethink the NFL.com mock draft I just mocked...nah but tempting

Su'a Cravens vs Deion Jones

lets see what Su'a runs. Su'a has more experience.

Main question at WLB is, Do they have instincts, can they run and make plays. Today's NFL being all pass happy and stuff, size is taking a back seat to speed.

I still like a bit more size than either one of these guys at WLBs myself. I am slow to evolve I guess.

I see a guy like Jayron Kearse 6040 216 4.62 falling like rock from 1st round to 4th or 5th and look at his negatives of stiff hips for a safety and slow recovery speed and I think LB. require a leap of faith in the 5th? not really I would roll the dice. meaning I would pass on a third rounder for Jones

I think Deion Jones = Jonathan Cassillas

Which I mean as a compliment BTW. If JC had a bit more lower body strength and durability I think he'd have been a very solid OLB in this league.

I wouldn't complain one bit if we took Jones in the 2nd, and he'd be a steal in the 3rd.

I understand, but that is one game...

At his size? This being the NFL (Not For Long) playing week in, week out...

Just don't like it...
