So, if we went .500 and our defense finished dead last in the NFL ... why didn\'t we finish dead last in the NFL? We must have scored some points somewhere? |

Turnovers, eh?
Hmmmmmmm. What were we ranked? 10th?. Does that mean we were the 10th best defense in the NFL? Or does it mean we were the 32nd best defense in the NFL who ranked 10th in take-aways? Think about that long and hard. Ooops. Careful now, I don\'t want nobody hurting dem selfs.... |

You mean we ranked 10th in takeaways and still finished DFL? No way thats true. That just can\'t be right. We weren\'t that bad...were we? I remember at one point late in the season we were on pace to break the record for the worst defense in the entire 40 year history of the NFL. How close did we come? |

All i remember is the offense being booed, I wonder why? Oh yeah unable to score and turning the ball over. Man they were booed alot.
All i know is if the offense showed up for half a game i wouldn\'t bet on them unless it was iNDY. |

That\'s when you KNOW the person or persons you are arguing have no intent of hearing your point, when they omit stats and facts to further theirs.
Kinda like picking and choosing certain drives..certain games...and certain scenario\'s and trying to make that the bulk of your argument... Or..picking only certain stats..and focusing only on them..and calling anyone who fails to buy into this one sided logic...\'\'Closed minded\'\'...look at the average ranking...in all catagories..we are near rock bottom( if not at rock bottom)..less one... Hang your hat on turnover ratio...but..it\'s is derailed by the overall ranking..DEAD LAST...and even MOST of the catagorized stats share the bottom ranking...or very near it... Yeah..great D!!!... I cannot believe someone is actually defending this Defense...I just..can\'t believe it... It is the responsibility of the DEFENSE to put the Offense in a favorable positon to score...the lack of points..is from the lack of opportunity...that\'s what a Defense does..stop scoring..and create opportunity for the Offense to score..plain and simple... The worst D possibly in NFL history..and STILL ..The Offense managed to rank top 15th....you call it \'\'Padding\'\'..I call it..scrambling to win...guess it just depends on how you look at it... |

Good grief, they were ridiculed and lambasted for 12 straight weeks by everyone. Even during the last 4 people were claiming it was because we were playing injured teams starting their scrubs. If the fans were booing the offense more than the defense then the Saints fans have to be the most clueless fans in the game. I don\'t think that was the case. |

This thread went from midly annoying to :rollinglaugh: faster than the Saints offense can get off the field.

I think alot of it was just the team in general getting booed..and some of that may have been for Has too...and Benson.. N.O. has seen better days...
And these guys know that..they\'re just reaching... |
