Re: 2016 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Interesting
Cowboys need a reliable back up QB we need a Guard. Get it done Mickey Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Saints have pursued a trade for Cowboys G Ronald Leary for the past few months. The Cowboys are clearly in the market for a backup quarterback and some have said that Leary could be used as a trade chip to net them a quarterback. However, Rapoport doesn’t specifically say the Saints would make one of their backup quarterbacks available in a trade for Leary. Leary elected to skip the Cowboys’ voluntary OTAs in the hope of facilitating a trade. However, the Cowboys made it clear that they weren’t giving him away and Leary later attended the team’s mandatory three-day minicamp. George previously mentioned that the Cowboys still view Leary as a valuable asset to their offensive line and are comfortable keeping him for the 2016 season. George adds that Dallas even thinks he could push second-year G La’el Collins in training camp, while also providing some important depth. Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports that the Cowboys aren’t actively fielding trade offers for veteran G Ronald Leary, despite the fact that they could use some pass-rush help. Leary, 27, wound up signing on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2012. He spent part of the 2012 season on their practice squad, but has since made the 53-man roster each season. According to OverTheCap.com, trading Leary would free up $2,553,000 in available cap space while creating no dead money. In 2015, Leary was limited to appearing in four games and played a total of 221 snaps for the Cowboys, according to Pro Football Focus. |
"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: 2016 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Right now, before playing any preseason games, our clearest offseason needs next season:
(1) Interior Offensive Line (2) Defensive End (3) Kicker Safety could quickly become a priority depending on keeping Byrd et al considerations... |

JP,
I noticed Jimmy Pruitt is listed as a safety on your most recent roster ... typo or had I not noticed him lined up at the FS position in camp? |

Found out from inquiry that Pruitt has been taken reps in practice at Safety... Highly doubtful Byrd is with this team next year, and we're as deep at cornerback in the history of the franchise... So think they're just trying to see what his range will be to give them options going into the offseason next year... Source Reference: http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf...n_crawley.html |
