Taking a DT in the first few rounds remains a sound decision, .
Yeah? Well, you know we don't. Our idea of having a motivating, "out there" type defensive coach is having them out there with another team...

, yeah, I know, I'm just trying to express an opinion in a non-trolling manner and still be somewhat optimistic in a situation that I honestly think has huge potential to be a "fail" ... but who knows? It might work out & if Fairley is going to be the force-to-reckon-with that I think he has yet to be, New Orleans is the second best team I'd like to see this happen at, .

I just hope the Saints don't pay him too much and I'd really like to know the inside scoop as to why the Rams are willing to let him walk. Could it be the 0.5 sack and 18 tackles in 15 games he recorded last season? IDK, he's averaged 2-3 sacks a year/16 tackles a season, but if you take away 2012 & 2013, he's been god-awful for a first round draft pick.

But, like Rez pointed out, he's a big improvement over what the Saints have right now and if Cam Jordan wants a DT, this could be his guy and just might create an environment Fairley will thrive in, #shrug. Combined with a couple of the LB signings and stuff, I'd be pretty happy as a Saints fan because it's starting to look like you just might have a defense to compliment an always potent offense, .

Like I said, I loved this guy coming out of college and hopefully whatever's kept him from reaching his full potential in the pros has been ironed out in DET/STL and he can be one of the top DL we all know he should be, .

Did you think I was talking about Drew? I was talking about Fairley and I can say whatever the hell I want to say about some douchebag off the field who's been a past problem.

Now take your posts and your accounting degree and shove it down your throat because honestly you're not the poster I want information from.
Yes, the timing of your post appeared to me that you were talking about Brees.

Am I missing something here? Get this done. I mean we will have at least $30.00 million dollars in dead money fall off next off season. Get this done.
This is what I have been trying to point out. Yes, you, and others, are missing something. The best means of maximizing the cap is to wait to see what relief is needed using the Brees extension. By making the Brees extension too early Loomis is in danger of either pushing too much to future years, or too little. The parameters of the Brees deal will be dependent upon what is done in the remaining free agency and possible jockeying in the draft.

And you would be guessing wrong. I am expecting a deal right in line with Brady's. There is NO hold up. It doesn't make any sense to finalize an extension at this point. It would be totally counterproductive.

Hey SloMo, a trolling manner (as opposed to motor) is just posting stuff to get under someone else's skin. Except, of course, if you're Asylum Guido.

You're just trying to give an honest opinion. I'm thinking most of us on this board are older than middle school and can handle it.

Peter Gunta & Aaron Glenn (scrappy player back in the day) and of course Dennis Allen. We got rid of The Big Lebowski (Ryan) so things WILL improve.

More importantly we got a solid year of starting experience under their belts for Kikaha, Anthony and Breaux. Add the experience and intelligence of JLaurintus, possible acquire a solid interior DT (Fairley), then a STUD or two in the upcoming draft. Whew!!! Middle of the road D is all we need to make a push in the playoffs.

This team will be much improved on D ... or at least I think they will.

Trust and believe .

Not to mention, that Browner is gone... He was one of the major reasons the defense could never get off the field. 3rd and long and it was an automatic throw in his direction
