New Orleans Saints sign DT Nick Fairley
1 Attachment(s)
The New Orleans Saints have signed defensive tackle Nick Fairley, the NFL Network reported on Monday.
Fairley, 28, visited New Orleans earlier this month, and also had reported interest from the New York Jets, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles. Fairley will likely get the first chance to fill the role held by veteran Kevin Williams in 2015 as the starting three-technique defensive tackle in the base defense. A native of Mobile, Ala., Fairley played college ball at Auburn and was selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. In four seasons with the Lions, he played in 46 games, making 13.5 sacks and 98 tackles. Fairley signed a one-year, $4.75 million contract with the St. Louis Rams last March. He played in 421 snaps off the bench last season (36 percent), registering 29 tackles and half of a sack. http://image.nola.com/home/nola-medi...142-mmmain.jpg Changed from visiting to signed!!! It's about freaking time we address the D-Line! Nick Fairley scares me though... Classic high risk/high reward.

Somebody get the crash cart and O2 for KMajor - the shock might've overwhelmed him...

Great addition and I say we take the risk. If not we can always cut bait. Incentivized contract for sure.

I guess we'll be paying him in monopoly money seeing as we were under 3 mil prior to signing Laurinaitis and co.
