They're saying Will Smith was actually the one who fired first and accidentally hit his wife in the legs when she was trying to break it up. Then Hayes returned fire in self-defense... This is according to eyewitnesses. Ceravolo then put Smith's gone back in the car.

Looks to me it's just the defense attorney saying one thing while the other is saying the total opposite.

But even so; self-defense while you shoot him multiple times in the back doesn't work...

well I agree about the defense attorney, and they should have already matched the caliber to the bullet(s) in her leg. If she wasn't shot with a .45 then that makes sense, but otherwise Hayes was the only guy that fired.
